Title: Correlated processes in size-selected stored clusters

Abstract:

In this project electron correlations in multiply negatively charged clusters are studied. For this purpose, mainly metal clusters will be prepared in ion traps, selected with respect to their size and charge state, and excited by laser radiation. As a function of the laser wavelength, photofragmentation channels are analyzed by detecting the product clusters, and electron emission is studied by means of photoelectron spectroscopy. A key aspect of this study is the characterization of the simultaneous emission of several electrons from polyanionic clusters.
